Joel, the confusion is yours perhaps. We are not worthy (ie. deserving) but we are worth it (because we are made in his image and therefore of immense value to God.)

I'm not a big fan of the aesthetics of the video, but the theology seems sound to me. Perhaps Joel is reading "worth it" to mean "worthy of it"? I understood it as a way of illustrating John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world..." In other words, his love for us is so great, that it was worth it for him to pay any price to rescue us. In other words, it's not about whether or not grace is required, but rather about why grace is offered :)

We are not "worth it." This video confuses a basic theological point. Grace is required because we are not worth it at all.
